Description:
Deciduous shrub or small tree. Leaves opposite, imparipinnate mostly with 3-4 pairs of leaflets and a terminal leaflet; leaflets ovate, elliptic or obovate, 1.5-8.5 cm long, lower leaflets smallest, subsessile except the terminal leaflets; margin entire or minutely serrate; pseudostipules ovate, up to 1 cm long. Inflorescences up to 48 cm long, many-flowered but with only 2-3 flowers opening at the same time. Flowers white with corolla tube 3.5-5.5 cm long and lobes rounded, 2-3 cm long, somewhat fleshy. Fruit 17-40 cm long, curved.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: alba: white.
Habitat: In deciduous woodland and thickets, on sandy soils.
Altitude range: Up to 300 m
Flowering time:Jun - Dec
Worldwide distribution: Only known from southern Mozambique.
