Description: |
Scandent shrub or tall woody climber, with branches up to 15 m long. Leaf lamina 7-15 × 2-5 cm, oblong or oblong-elliptic, usually with 1 pair of glands near the insertion of the petiole beneath, ferrugineous-tomentose on both surfaces when young, later becoming glabrous, the older ones with the tomentum persisting beside the midrib beneath; base rounded. Petiole 2-6 mm, stout, channelled. Inflorescences of many-flowered, pyramidal racemes. Bracts 1-2 mm long, triangular-lanceolate; bracteoles minute, eglandular. Calyx with 2-3 circular glands; sepals ovate. Petals up to 11 × 8 mm, elliptic to ovate, unguiculate, yellow. Wing of the samara up to 4 cm long, oblique-ovate. |
