Description: |
Shrub or small tree. Leaves crowded at the ends of small branches, obovate, 5-32 cm long, rounded to cordate at the base, mostly hairless above, often velvety beneath; petiole usually up to 3 cm long, rarely longer; stipules broadly elliptic, 0.7-2.3 cm long. Flowers in upper axillary heads on peduncles up to 19 cm long. Calyx cup-shaped, yellowish-green, pink-tinged. Corolla white, cream, yellowish- or greenish-white, sometimes pink-tinged, appressed silky pubescent outside; tube narrowly cylindric, 2-4.6 cm long; lobes oblong, 4-9 mm long. Fruit ovoid or subglobose, woody, up to 3 cm in diameter, green, streaked-brownish-red. |
