| Notes: | Closely related and similar to Impatiens oreocallis, which differs in having sessile leaves and emarginate upper lobes of the lateral petals. |
| Derivation of specific name: | zombensis: from Zomba in southern Malawi, although the type specimen is possibly from Mt Mulanje. |
| Habitat: | On wet rocks and moist, shaded streambanks, along forest edges and sometimes in open secondary scrub. |
