Description: |
Shrub or small tree, to 6 m tall. Leaves 4-8 × 3-10 cm, oblong or obovate-oblong, notched or truncate at the apex with the midrib produced as a short mucro; margin crenate-dentate; base rounded and often asymmetric, becoming glabrous above, pubescent beneath. Petiole up to 8 mm. Inflorescences borne opposite the leaves, 3-9-flowered; peduncle pubescent. Sepals 1.5-2.5 cm, linear-oblong, green and minutely tomentose outside, white and hairless inside. Petals 10-16 mm, ovate, acute, white. Fruit deeply 4-lobed, c. 1.5 cm in diameter; lobes sparsely bristly hairy. |
