Herb up to c. 35 cm tall. Stems very slender, crisped pubescent. Leaves linear-lanceolate, 5-7 mm long hairless, apex with a needle-like point; margin somewhat rolled under. Flowers bright pink, in 1-5-flowered lateral racemes on pedicels 3-4 mm long. Capsule suborbicular in outline, c.5.5 × 5 mm, hairless with a narrowly winged margin. |
| Notes: | Although described as possibly annual, the specimen in the photographs appeared to be perennial. |

| Habitat: | Little known. Although the specimen in the photographs was found in an undisturbed seepage area of rocky montane grassland, it has also been recorded from cultivated fields (Exell, 1960). |
