Description:
Perennial climber with slender stems and branches containing milky latex. Leaves opposite, elliptic to oblong, 20–40 mm long with an prominent tip and a ring-like thickening where the petiole join the stem. Flowers in axillary subumbellate heads, creamy white or greenish with a distinctive tubular, white corolla. Fruitpaired horn-shaped follicles with club-shaped plumed seeds.
Notes: The plant is poisonous to livestock.
Derivation of specific name: ellipticum: elliptic, referring to the leaf-shape.
Habitat: In the coastal bush.
