Description:
Perennial herb, with long vertical rhizome, growing from a small bulb. Leaves trifoliolate; leaflets variably heart-shaped, lobed at the apex; often reddish to purple below. Flowers in pseudo-umbels, pale to deep pink, sometimes with a yellow centre.
Notes: This species is superficially similar to the exotic weed Oxalis latifolia. It can be distinguished by the long vertical rhizome, usually growing from a single bulb; and the smaller leaves.

Habitat: A species of forest edges, Brachystegia woodland and grassland.
