Description of the genus

Erect annual herbs with resin canals. Leaves alternate, linear entire or denticulate. Capitula disciform, solitary, terminal. Florets; outer filiform; central tubular with 5 dark purple longitudinal lines commencing between lobes. Pappus of free barbellate bristles in 1 series, each bristle with adpressed teeth.

Worldwide: 2 species in tropical Africa

Mozambique: 1 taxon.
