Description: |
Branched, somewhat scrambling annual herb up to c. 80 cm high. Leaves narrowly lanceolate, up to 8 cm long. Flowers in terminal and axillary racemose inflorescences up to 3 cm long; each flower supported by a broadly ovate bract, c. 8 x 6 mm, only very finely and sparsely velvety and with minute ciliae on the margins, less than 0.5 mm long. Corolla c.11 mm long, white with purple herringbone markings on the lower lip. |

Notes: | This taxon has not yet been formally described and has been provisionally included in Flora Zambesiaca volume 8 part 6 as sp. B., based on a single previous collection. In the location of the specimen in the images this taxon was surprisingly common and often forming extensive "weedy" colonies. |
