| Description: | Multi-stemmed, scrambling shrub or small tree. Bark grey, rough; branches angular and ribbed. Leaves ovate to subcircular, 6-23 cm long, light green, densely covered in soft hairs on both surfaces, lateral veins and net-veining conspicuous below, first pair of veins starting right at the base of the midrib; margin entire or obscurely crenate. Flowers in terminal heads, white, cream or yellow, c. 1.5 cm in diameter, calyx and stalks covered in yellowish hairs. Fruit fleshy, ovoid with a sharp point, c. 2.5 cm long, orange-yellow when ripe; remains of calyx recurved, enlarged. |
