Description:
|
Erect annual to 1.3 m tall. Stems branching above, with short-stalked, long-armed T-shaped hairs, at least below. Lower stem leaves subspathulate, broadly ovate or lanceolate, tapered below into a long narrowly-winged midrib; apex shortly acuminate; margin crenate-serrate; upper stem leaves narrower. Capitula borne in a terminal panicle, very numerous, small (involucres 4-6 mm long). Phyllaries appressed, becoming reflexed. Corollas pinkish or pale mauve. Achenes 1.2-2 mm, terete, not ribbed, uniformly pubescent; outer pappus of distinct short linear fimbriate scales, 0.2-0.6 mm long; inner pappus of white setae 3-4.5 mm long. |
