Common names:
Status: Doubtful
Notes: Although listed for Zambezia, Gaza-Inhambane and Maputo provinces by da Silva, Izidine & Amuda (SABONET 30: 56, 2004), it is notably absent for Mozambique in Flora Zambesiaca volume 9 part 5 (Carter & Leach, 2001) and other literature and its presence may be based upon misidentified or mislabeled specimens.
Derivation of specific name:
Habitat: A weedy species of open patches in grassland, often on seasonally wet ground.
Altitude range: 600 - 1460 m
Flowering time:
Worldwide distribution: From Arabian Peninsula along the eastern half of Africa to Angola and South Africa but apparently absent from Southeastern Tanzania and Mozambique.
