This species is recognized by the strongly serrate leaf margins. It is usually a more shrubby herb up to 45 cm high, often branching just above the base.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: serratus: toothed like a saw blade.
Habitat: In rocky places in open woodland and grassland.
Altitude range: 150 - 1350 m

Worldwide distribution: Restricted to Mozambique, Zimbabwe,Botswana and northern South Africa.
