| Description: |
Small to medium-sized evergreen tree. Leaves imparipinnate with 4-8 pairs of sub-opposite leaflets and a terminal leaflet; leaflets oblong-elliptic, 3.5-9 cm long, with white tufts of hairs in the axils of the veins and along the midrib below; apex tapering; base asymmetric; margin entire. Flowers in axillary pedunculate heads, small, whitish. Fruit a woody capsule, c. 4 cm in diameter, covered with lobed antler-like appendages, red when ripe. |
