Status: Native
Slender perennial climbing herb, recorded from grassland and heathland in the Chimanimani Mts, both on the Zimbabwe and Mozambique sides. Leaves filiform, up to c. 3 cm. Flowers very dark purple, lighter maroon to whitish near the inflated base of the corolla tube. Corolla lobes hairy, fused at the apices to form a "cage".
Notes: This appears to be is a distinct but undescribed species, known from several records from both the Zimbabwe and Mozambique side of the Chimanimani Mts. Specimens at SRGH are stored in a folder marked sp. no1.

Habitat: In grassland and heathland, among rocks.

Worldwide distribution: Apparently restricted to quartzitic areas in the Chimanimani Mts of Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
