Description:
Perennial herb up to 60 cm tall, growing from a large woody tuber. Leaves variable in shape, up to 6 cm long, 3-veined from the base; margin entire or toothed. Capitula terminal,solitary or rarely 2-4 together, up to 6 cm in diameter; disc florets purple-black, ray-florets white. Often seen flowering after fires.
