Common names:
Status: Native
Shrub or small tree 1–5 m high; bark smooth, grey-brown. Branches slender, brownish-pubescent, becoming hairless Leaves narrowly elliptic to oblong or oblong-ovate, 2–9 cm long, obtuse to shortly acuminate at the apex, somewhat leathery, dark green, completely hairless or pubescent along the midrib below with venation prominent on both surfaces; margin bluntly toothed; petiole 2–3 mm long, channelled above, pubescent; stipules narrowly lanceolate, 2–3 mm long, pubescent. Inflorescence mostly in 1–8-flowered, axillary racemes; peduncle densely pubescent. Flowers erect to pendulous, with pedicels 4–8 mm long, densely pubescent. Sepals ovate to oblong, c. 2 mm long, vertically ribbed, pubescent in the midrib region. Petals lanceolate, 5–6 mm long, white, acute at the apex, becoming more or less completely reflexed, hairless. Capsule 3-sided, 7–8 mm long, greenish-yellow to red-brown, often mottled, hairless or more or less hairy.
Derivation of specific name: angustifolia: with narrow leaves
ardisiiflora:with flowers like an Ardisia, a genus in Primulaceae.
Habitat: Moist evergreen forest and woodland or thicket-forming among rocks in or near rivers
Altitude range: 100 - 200 m

Worldwide distribution: Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia.
