Status: Native
Perennial herb, usually with leaves confined to a basal rosette and with a leafless stem. Leaves rough above, green and white-felted beneath. Capitula in a dense corymbose head. Involucral bracts sometimes reddish. Florets golden yellow.

Habitat: Grassland species, near wet areas.

Worldwide distribution: DRC, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
