Description: |
Perennial herb growing from corms. Leaves narrowly lanceolate to linear, thick and leathery, in this form usually fully developed at flowering time. Flowers normally pale to bright pink with darker markings on the lower tepals but other colour forms do locally occur. |
Notes: | Very differently coloured local populations are known from Mt Gorongosa and Mt Namuli. |

Habitat: | Mostly rocky or wet (sub)montane grassland but also in low altitude grassland in the coastal plain in Southern Mozambique. |
